Meeting Minutes 1/12

Hey ladies, both new & old!

It was great to see so many new faces at our first meeting of the quarter tonight. We hope you all are as excited as we are!

Tonight we gathered and shared some of AWC's intentions with new members, which include:

• Creating a group that fosters professionalism among young women
• Spreading philanthropic ideals throughout the Athens community
• Forming close relationships with other established young women on campus
• Giving young women a social and professional outlet through which they can grow as an individual and as a professional.

After munching on some pizza, we all headed over to Baker to hear OU alum and professional actor Piper Perabo speak.

Piper spoke fondly of her memories at OU, and gave some motivational advice about finding your dream and sticking to it. She gave the audience a really interesting perspective on the world of show biz, all while adding a little spice and flavor to her speaking style.

Dream big, ladies.

Good luck on your finals. Remember to breathe, relax, sleep and eat breakfast each morning.

Meeting Minutes 11/10

In case you missed tonight's meeting, Julianne conducted a resume workshop, giving everyone tips and advice on how to spruce up their resume.

When creating a resume, keep the following in mind:

• EDIT, EDIT, EDIT! One spelling error can detract an employee from hiring you
• Include all "impressive" experiences throughout your college career, with the most relevant experiences to the job listed on top
• Try to add an element of creativity without being obnoxious, so that your resume stands out but is not over-crowded
• Don't let your resume exceed one, single-spaced page
• Include details that expand on each experience you had
  
• Create a personal brand for yourself, and allow this brand to expand onto your other professional items, such as business cards/Web sites, etc.

Meeting Minutes 11/3

Hey girls,

Sorry we had to cancel the meeting tonight; we're really glad that everyone was enthusiastic to do a trash collecting fundraiser in Boyd Hall, but Res Life decided to rain on our parade at the last minute and nixed the idea (boo!).

If anyone has any fund-raising ideas, be sure to shoot your ideas over to exec!

Halloween Social!

Instead of having a regular meeting tonight, we all gathered at our President Emily's house for a Halloween social.

Thanks to everyone who came out and brought food!

It looks like "headbands" turned out to be a smash hit game, so we'll make sure to incorporate that into our next social, as well.

Meeting Minutes, Octoboer 20

AWC switched things up tonight, and instead of meeting in Scripps as usual, we all met up at Ping and participated in a Zumba class.

We hope it was as physically exhilarating for all of you as it was for us; remember to maintain your health, even in times of academic strenuousness.

Women Studies Speaker

Hey Ladies!

Thanks for making it out tonight; I know it was an interesting one for all of us! Char Kopchick came in and talked to us about girl-related health issues.

Char's vivid personality is one that we always enjoy, and we hope to get her back next quarter. Some topics we discussed included:

• Safe sexual habits
• What type of tests to get at your yearly doctor's appointments
• How STD's are transmitted
• Proper ways to stay hygienically in tact
